NEW Home Insulation Grants save UK home owners millions every year!
Replacing the Warm Front Scheme, Affordable Warmth’s home insulation grants offer financial support for UK homes to improve their cavity wall insulation, loft insulation and upgrade ineffective or old boilers. The new grants are effectively a pool of money that the Government has legally bound the ‘big six’ energy companies to spend on homes and to support tenants that are considered ‘most at risk’ APPLY FOR THE NEW GRANTS

Like A Jersey For Your Home: Insulation Grants
During the winter time, we get out our warm jerseys, hats and scarves. We all know that wrapping up thoroughly keeps you nice and cosy. But nobody wants to live in a puffa jacket and woolly beanie for the duration of winter, but we still want to keep warm without breaking the bank. It’s a pity that they haven’t invented the equivalent of a warm jersey and a woolly hat for houses.
But they have invented a way to wrap your house up. It’s called insulation and it works on your home the same way that the winter woollies work on you.
Loft insulation is crucial for keeping your home warm and your energy bill down. Up to quarter of the warmth in your home escapes through the roof if your loft space doesn’t have adequate insulation. Even if the heat gets into your loft and goes no further, this is a waste of the money that you’ve spent on heating your home – you want the heat in your living room and in your bedroom, not the loft space. Once loft insulation is in place, it can save up to 30% of your monthly energy bill.
Cavity insulation works by filling the gaps between the walls. Have you ever wondered where a mousehole leads to or where the pipes and electric wires hide in your walls? There’s a gap in there, and any heat that escapes into there is heat that isn’t where you want it: in your living room. Why pay pounds and pounds just to keep the mice warm? Cavity insulation fills these gaps – without any need for time-consuming and obstructive renovations – trapping warmth into the rooms rather than allowing it to escape and be wasted.
Insulation may seem like an expensive option, even when weighed against the long-term savings of lower power bills and less time off work with coughs and colds over winter. However, for people on benefits or below a certain income level, home insulation grants are available through the Affordable Warmth scheme. This scheme was set up by the government as part of an initiative to make the UK more energy efficient and to reduce the country’s greenhouse gas emissions.
